Lent Termcard 2023

Happy New Year! We would love to invite you to join us at St Stephen’s this year. Our termcard below shows details of all that is coming up, including:

  • A Sunday sermon series following the story of Abraham in the book of Genesis. These are really encouraging chapters, especially when we are struggling to hold onto our faith in the midst of difficult circumstances.

  • Home groups looking together at the middle chapters of the book of Mark, which give us an immediate window into the heart of Jesus.

  • A Christianity Explored course for those looking into the Christian faith or those wanting to go back over the basics,

  • A new monthly meeting for our youth.

Kids' Hangout - Friday 7 October 2022 - 6pm-8pm

Our next kids’ hangout will take place on Friday 7 October from 6pm-8pm. It will be a great chance for children aged 5-14yo to play games and have pizza and to listen to a story from the Bible. Please contact Paul (paul.rajkumar@ststephensw2.org) if you would like to sign up.

Autumn Termcard 2022

We would love you to join us at St Stephen’s this Autumn. The attached file shows details of our upcoming activities. Highlights include:

  • A Sunday sermon series looking at Matthew chapter 8-11 in which Jesus challenges, subverts and surpasses our expectations of him

  • Home groups looking together at the book of Isaiah, which lifts us out of our everyday lives to see the majestic glory of God

  • Harvest and remembrance day services

  • Our annual Christmas candle lit setvice on 11th December, with wonderful music as we celebrate the hope of Christmas

  • A Christianity Explored course for those looking into the Christian faith or those wanting to go back over the basics

  • Kids hangouts on 7 October and 2 December

We will keep zoom links for Sunday services and prayer meetings, but would love you to join us in person if you are able to.

Summer termcard

We would love you to join us at St Stephen’s this summer. The attached file shows details of our upcoming activities. Highlights include:

  • A Sunday sermon series looking at the middle chapters of the book of Acts, which show the early church growing rapidly amidst persecution,

  • Home groups looking together at the book of Mark, the fastest pace gospel,

  • Two more Kids’ hangouts for the young people,

  • A Hope Explored course for those looking into the Christian faith or those wanting to go back over the basics.

From prison to pastor

On Wednesday 30th March, we will host an event at which we will hear Andrew Barnett's story of coming to faith in a prison cell. Come along to hear how Andrew went from serving time in prison to serving as a pastor for the London City Mission. 7.45pm for a 8pm start

  • Home groups looking together at the book of 1 Thessalonians and the hope we have in Christ

  • A lent course thinking about how we share our faith as we lead into the passion for life mission

  • A Christianity Explored course for those looking into the Christian faith or those wanting to go back over the basics

Christmas Services update

We would love you to join us for our services over Christmas. We have made some changes to the programme. Our current plan is:

  • On Christmas Eve, we will have an all age Christingle Service at 4pm, please arrive from 3.45pm for the children to make their Christingles.

  • On Christmas Eve, at 11:30pm we will have a service of Holy Communion

  • On Christmas Day at 10am we will celebrate with an all age service of family worship

  • On Boxing day there will be no service, in a change to the previous plan

  • On Sunday 2nd January, we will hold a simple spoken service (with no music) at both 10:30am and 6:30pm.

  • On Sunday 9th January, we return to a normal Sunday with services at 10:30am and 6:30pm including music and children's work at the 10:30am service.

Under the government’s “plan B”, please wear a face mask to church, unless you are exempt. There is no need for an NHS covid pass.
